I finally figured out how to play a lot of those fun german board games like San Juan and carcassone on this german website (of course) called brettspielwelt.de
It's kind of tricky to get set up but once it was, I learned to play Can't Stop! (a fun dice game) with Jade Lennox and Temvald.. Fun times!

We're having an amazing time. Esbelli Evi, our hotel in cappadocia, couldn't be nicer. We have a suite! There's also internet and a cardreader so I had to upload some pix from my good camera. Enjoy!

Most of the pictures i've taken with my real camera but here is a sampling from my phone. It's quite an interesting combination of things. We're sitting in a very fancy coffee shop called Coffee World that was blaring techno and has free wifi. The call to prayer is happening now and the music is off, not sure if its connected or not. We just finished wandering the grand bazaar. Yep. Call over, back to the nn tss nn tss.
Our hotel is right near by the blue mosque. Today we're going to konya.
Went down to Stanford today, and I managed to catch the last free Caltrain! woohooo! It's a 'Spare the Air' day so public transit was free til 1pm.
Who doesn't like a free train?
Also getting really excited; Adena & I are going to Turkey in just under 2 weeks.. Can't wait. I'm going to take a bunch of pictures & post em, of course. :)
I just did my first run with my new Ipod Nano & Nike Plus thang. It worked very well, despite being a crappy cold windy sunset evening. I swear, the weather seems even worse this summer. Hopefully mid-august and later will bring nicer weather. But the sensor was good; even without calibration it was within .05 miles of my google map mapping. (Which is actually likely to be less accurate).
3.03 miles including 5 minutes of walking on either end.
Woohoo! Technology.. Next stop, 5k run!

Hello world should be easy but...
My ISP is super paranoid so everytime I fatfinger my password they lock me out of ssh (even though plaintext ftp seems to have no such restrictions)
Mess around for a while before I realize they only have php4 not php5.
php4 hello world fb example has some random errors (I don't know php really but I can hack around in it if the baseline app is working)
installing the CPAN module has taken over an hour and it's still compiling random crap.
I'll try again later. :P Maybe I need some newfangled language like ruby!
